There used to be a song chanted about this guy, he's being freed

He could be being released to die, it's hard to know.

Whilst I agree he's probably no longer a danger to society, it does send out the wrong message.

Probably would have, if the death penalty hadn't been withdrawn a year earlier.

Rovers fans used to sing the same thing. I always remember being at Chesterfield  many years ago and a Policeman managed to lose his helmet which became a plaything for Rovers supporters. This song was belted out by everyone present as an extra incentive.

As young as I was then I always felt ashamed by the song.

Another, perhaps less serious and more humorous song was the;

Who's that tw*t with the big black hat?
Scuffer, scuffer
Who's that tw*t with the big black hat?
scuffer is his name...
On the beat all day
On the wife all night!
Who's that tw*t with the big black hat?
Scuffer is his name!

Even one or two Coppers used to smile at that one!

Wow although I sung both of them I had forgotten the latter one - even though it was the more tasteful of the two
