No, why would it?

It has been made clear since before the season that there is a contingency fund for loans, and more recently we've been told that money is available and it was up to the manager to spend it.

The cynic in me suggests you MAY have been having a little pop here at the Board, but perhaps not...

not a pop at anyone IDM just appears that everyone blames dickov for not getting loans in but then thank the board for the signing of butler seems its not all his fault.be nice if johnson was the one but he as said hisself he enjoyed his time here but would like to stay at championship level at least

I can't remember all the references but I am fairly sure at the start of the season that loan budget would be there.  In recent weeks it was reconfirmed (perhaps from the VSC recent club meeting?) that money for loans was available and it was up to the manager to ask for it.

Therefore my conclusion was that we haven't had any loanees in earlier because the manager hadn't asked yet - not because the board hadn't made money available.  Perhaps PD wanted loanees earlier but hadn't got the right player availability?  It's no secret he's wanted Butler all along.

I do think Johnstone is a realistic option - it is not unusual for Prem players to loan out to league 1 clubs, look at the lad Afobe who is doing very well at MK on loan from Arsenal?  SJ I expect would want to play, and with us he'd play and more likely than not get plenty of action.  It's a win-win situation IMHO.

Sorry acko for my first reaction, I accept your views in the spirit they were intended.  I believe PD was thanking the board out of courtesy rather than any indication of only just getting money.
