There was a young lady's sat at a laptop putting the story together for them, but she got the last goal scorer wrong because it was Jack McKay that put in the net.

So two Mandeville, one Gordon and one McKay

Yes that's great work . The Belles have wonderful volunteers who do the same sort of thing too very swiftly after games . It's wonderful dedicated fans can do .

I think tbf you can accept the odd mistake when reports/articles are put up so quickly and I'm sorry this sort of thing really puts us to shame

Puts who to shame Daggers ? I can't imagine how Rovers could find and pay people to travel down to Weston Super Mare one night , get back home .. get  into work in the morning then attend a youth match at night and do a report poste haste. We are not Chelsea thank God . I was able to follow last nights's game with live telephone commentary on Rovers Player and tonight's match on both twitter ( minute by minute updates )and on Facebook including a photo. Not bad I say from my club !

Sorry graingrover its pretty easy to sort, even a two person paid media team could make it work yes you might get in a 2 am so you come in at 13/14.00 the following day and cover the evening game while the other covers the normal day, its not as if there is no warning at all and it just needs a bit of teamwork to arrange.
However I'm not necessarily on about paid employees, I know of numerous people on the coach's last night that were either going to the youth game tonight OR going to the inexplicably arranged Race night at the same time as the the Youth game. You yourself say the Belles have some wonderful volunteers to do this sort of thing.
The biggest problem is somebody at the club has got it in their heads that twitter and facebook are the be all and end all at the expense of the official site!

I'm sorry Dag but try and find a willing volunteer who doesn't want paying or the inside gossip on the club. Top that off with being shot down in flames publicly by a minority, I'm not saying DROS is acceptable it isn't but it's not necessarily the clubs fault either.

You are completely right bpool although some would still have us behave in that manner.
Rovers for what it costs...,..please sort it out . Supporters that want to carry on in this manner are probably clearly happier to play at that level too.

We have had years of 2nd/3rd tier competition on the field matched with 5th/6th level standards or Marketing, Media and Merchandising.

BTW anyone been on the website for the club shop recently ? Arr lass and me were tied in knots navigating around the site for my Christmas present :((
Seems like a trip to the actual shop is in order instead  !

Maybe we should /could initiate a clients'  Service charter  to set out the service levels we require from the website in respect of match reports / videos and the Shop online .

In my own experience an E mail to Marketing  always gets a response though I have never ( dared ) tried it in respect of the Online shop.

And yet- I thought the twitter updates on last night's game were excellent, as indeed they were at Weston the night before. I now find these the best way to keep in touch with a Rovers game when I'm not there.

On Peterborough's twitter feed in contrast there were no updates. Not a criticism- they obviously preferred to prioritise getting a match report posted soon after the game. Equally I don't think that should be used to criticise our media team.

I don't have Rovers Player but I'm well aware of all the problems they've had. Maybe they should consider using a few more "guest commentators" including players who are not in the squad.

Red Baron .. i'm sorry you are not subscribed to Player  .. you would appreciate it in my opinion knowing you a bit from your posts AND your positive critical input would help them develop the service as fans want . I do contact them with points I feel worthwhile and invariably get a response . Your idea of  player /guest co commentators is good and you could do worse than E mail them .As far as I know all commentators are  volunteers by the way ( Rovers/ fans always though Tom Biltcliffe may be a freelance journalist too ..( I dunno) .
I can't afford to come to UK for more than say 8 to 10 times a year so the  full match videos on Player are precious to me .I just wish they were always on as soon as they are allowed rather than 4 days later ( sometimes) .

At the risk of being thought too supportive I would add that  the occasional loss of transmission seems to have been sorted ( I mean audio  commentaries).. but in case of problem there is always the option of switching temporarily to the opposition commentary

Right ... that's my commission  payment fixed then . !!

Sammy if it was a free service you would be right but it's not so as I'm paying for a service I should get my monies worth,if you went to shop to get your tv fixed and handed over 50 quid only to get home and find it's still broke would you feel and better if they said sorry I tried,I don't actually get paid for doing this job or would you feel you should be getting the service you paid for, every credit for the volunteers but I want the service I expected when I signed up not ghe crap I get now
