I've looked at freesat but that doesn't have much more than freeview...Someone told me about internet wifi android boxes but haven't a clue about them...Would really appreciate a bit of advice about what one off cost options are out there and whats best...muchly thanks

Freeview will be introducing free-to-air catch-up tv (BBC iPlayer, etc) later this year if you have the right equipment. It might be worth waiting and seeing how that pans out.

I just pay for Sky so I have no idea but my brother has just got an Amazon Fire TV box and he reckons they are good. They are £64 just for the box I think, but assume will be a lot better if you are an Amazon Prime member (£79 a year) as you'll then get access to all their Prime Streaming stuff as well as the free channels.
