So if have just bought your ticket , you get home only find out that you dropped it , you report it missing at the club ? What do you hope will happen -

A) ' the club and we will give you another '

B). Club put you in a list to look out for but won't give you another.

C) club know your seat details but don't have a policy of checking .

Not with standing the responsibility issues if looking after you own property , you will NOT get any assistance form the club as they are not obliged to print a replacement . My point to
ALL this was paying a lot of money for an unreserved season ticket you have NO chance of ever seeing it again , where before you
Had a small but tangible chance none the less . But IMO I decided to take up a free upgrade to west stand to protect this . So
There !!! S G F Y !!!

If anyone found a season ticket and used it to go into the ground they would be crazy to sit in the seat it is for.
All they would need to to do is use a different seat and no one would know would they.
The same would apply if someone found a ticket for the West Stand, just sit somewhere else, so there is no more protection really.
There is plenty of choice of seats.

A swiping in card system would eliminate the problem, if the club ever decide to join the 21st century. Then any lost or stolen cards can be identified when they are used to gain entry into the ground, and the fraudulent card holders identified.

Did you not read what I put before ?
Every time a season ticket is reported lost or stolen to the club, the season ticket book number is issued to every turnstile operator on every stand to watch for the missing ticket.
Every ticket for the stand is checked upon receipt and if the lost or stolen ticket turns up, then the holder is stopped and apprehended by a steward. They wouldn't even get to the seats.
Bentley Bullet- the swiping system was in the plans when the Keepmoat was built but the cost was the issue when the overall costs were taken into account, and that was one of the things that was dropped.

RR45, That seems to me like a short term cost saving plan. Surely long term it would have saved money on the reduction in gate men's wages?

Yes it would, but if you remember at the time of construction, the costs had to be trimmed and that was one of the savings.

Serious question here RedRover, do the turnstile operators check every season ticket that is presented to them?

I genuinely cant remember them ever doing anything but take the ticket from me and put it on a pile.
Sometimes i have the ticket already released from my book and just hand it over.

If you lost your season ticket I'm sure Tracy and the Ticket office staff would do everything they could to help you as accidents happen.

If there are any outstanding lost or stolen, then yes they check every ticket. It only needs a cursory glance at the number so you wouldn't even notice.
If there are none reported at that time, they obviously don't need to check.

To be fair the RedRover they must have genuine eagle eyes and a good memory because in the time they take to glance at it i certainly wouldn't pick up on the number.

They have the experience, and the stolen number in their head. You only need a lightening glance to see if the number is similar initially.

Release list been given yet , I think 400 or 500 fans may take there own release next season IMO . I doubt after this poor season and with prospects of more to come next I think it's a strong posibity of even lower crowds .

I read the OP and the first reply and stopped there.

FFS get real.  When we don't play good football or get results, especially at home, fans stay away.

The way to bring folks back IMHO is to have a great start to the season, play good football and entertain with goals and wins.  Fans will soon come back.

Can we not have a constructive discussion about releases/signings and/or managerial changes without tit for tat b*llocks on here?

They must check some information on the tickets because I was once refused entry when I handed my grandson's season ticket over, after mistakenly giving him mine so that he could go into the ground earlier. Funny really how I was evoked for being suspected of under paying - whereas my Grandson got in no problem and wasn't even advised that he was over paying!

I guess that kind of shows that they don't check every ticket then.
