91-92 that was, Al. We actually would have stayed up because we avoided finishing bottom on the final day of the season. We beat Maidstone 3-0 in what turned out to be their final game. Carlisle lost at Scunny and slipped below us. Some turn around considering Carlisle beat us 3-0 at BV on the opening day. Steve Beaglehole did a terrific job with a very young team.

I think it was during the Richardson era that the penalty spots were sold. Paul Daniels bought two, and a further 378 were sold to anonymous buyers.

Aye that's right guys I'd forgotten about maidstone and aldershot that year! I've still got a program from the maidstone game in a box somewhere! Did turnbull knock a hattrick of headers into the town end net against aldershot that season just before they went bust?

I have the home programme against Aldershot, signed by both teams, one of my best pieces that!.
