A senior Russian Football Union official and ultra-nationalist politician said Monday that the country's fans were right to fight England supporters at Euro 2016.

Igor Lebedev, who sits on the RFU executive committee and is also a deputy speaker in parliament, said on Twitter: "I don't see anything wrong with fans fighting."

"Quite the opposite, the guys did well. Keep it up!" said Lebedev, a member of the ultra-nationalist Liberal Democratic Party of Russia headed by his father Vladimir Zhirinovsky.

Utter disgrace, if the French police put as much effort into sorting out the migrant issue as they have into tear gassing and baton charging the english then there wouldn't be a migrant issue. Utter disgrace and our goverment sit back and allow it to carry on.

May have helped if the incompetent french had put some police INSIDE the stadium. Their searching procedures ,in light of recent terrorist attacks , were apparently also a joke.
According to another post on this forum, the russian thugs are still in france planning attacks on Polish fans next. Wonder if theyl get kicked out the competition if this happens. I doubt it, but strongly suspect England would.

What I was meaning was it's plain to see that the treatment of the majority of English supporters by the indescrimate actions of the French police, the total non attempt to control the Russian hooligans that have had free rein in Marseille as not been met by condemnation from our pathetic exscuse of a government, to scared to upset the french.

There was trouble here in Nice on Saturday, nothing to do with the Polish or Northern Irish  they were all drinking together and having plenty of banter , the local French youths turned up and kicked off ,attacking both sets of supporters. After yesterday's match the majority of fans were funnelled one way out of the ground together, on to the shuttle buses together, no bother at all.

Not necessarily. I know it looks that way but a couple of Russians have been arrested in Marseilles and the French prosecutors are thinking of charging them with attempted murder.
