Doncaster Rovers podcast by the fanzine - episode 3
« on December 02, 2016, 01:42:35 pm by VivaRovers »
We recorded the third episode of the podcast earlier this week, so sticking a link on here, partly because it seemed to go down well last time, but also because we respond to some of the suggestions you made for 'greatest headed Rovers goal' and 'coldest grounds'.

Also in this issue we look at November's results, Liam Mandeville's resurgence, and the lack of pre-match entertainment in Stevenage. And, arguably most interestingly, we pick up a point raised in the last fanzine by James McMahon about how hard it can be to appreciate the greatness of players you've never seen, and whether you can take sentiment out of such appreciation.

You can listen to it on both Soundcloud and Itunes - both of which are linked via here.

Feedback is, as ever, appreciated and welcome.

As far as I know, Huddersfield's ground has always had four stands but the way they all slope down to the corners allows an icy wind to whip in off the hills. Bast@rd freezing, it is.

I particularly like the fact that nearly all the observations made (Alick Jeffrey playing in America, us being the only league two game on this weekend (psst Yeovil-Crawley) and head-scratching about Huddersfield's three sides were all spurious verging on a bit wrong. The googling in the background must have been frantic.

Joking aside, very decent listen. Something we as a club have been needing for a long time now. Most clubs now have at least one decent podcast/VLOG channel going and this could be ours. Continue the interaction and this could shoot up to dozens of listeners.

Cheers CIM, thanks for the kind words. Listener figures are actually in the hundreds already (aye, I know, we're surprised too). And I bloody knew we weren't the only League Two game Saturday - last time I listen to Jack.

Huddersfield was definitely 3 sided when it opened,  but the extra stand came quite soon afterwards (1 or 2 seasons?).

Coldest ground...Ice Station Zebra at Oldham in January.

Best Header....Steve Uzelac at Swansea in a 3-3 draw...a power header from a corner.
I think it was a midweek game.

If you were there, you know!

Listened this morning instead of sounds of the sixties. I really enjoyed it, it was just like 3 fans of a club having a natter. Which I suppose it was.
There was no falling out or arguing either, unlike discussions on a forum. 😉

It shows the importance of keeping a settled side. Gets better every week.

Cheers folks, glad you're enjoying it.

We're hoping to do another one before Christmas if we can find a date to record on.

And if you're listening via iTunes feel free to give us a rating on there - helps us reach a few more folk.
