Two corners, two headed goals
« on September 30, 2017, 03:50:03 pm by Donnyjim »
Basics, absolute basics. Our defending was shite last season and guess what...it's even worse this season. As a coach you start at the back and build from there. DF has not got a clue how to coach defending!

Is it possible to sack managers at half time?

I think im leaning towards giving him the boot as the results haven't been acceptable for a long time now.

However, I dont think you can blame him for conceding from set pieces.  A team should be capable of defending from set pieces.  Like you say,Its basic defending and picking up your man.

He's got to go for me now.

I said i'd give him to ten games.

Watching on iFollow. We were okay til we conceded. It has been an utter shambles since. Players arguing with each other, no effort. Defending is laughable.

Usually indicates the gaffer has lost the dressing room. Which I would argue happened a long time ago.

Let's be fair though, the hierarchy will not sack him, even if we get relegated. They're as toothless as our strikers.

Players arguing doesn't indicate he's lost the dressing room.

Players always have a go at each other if they concede even successful teams.

Edit: thought Donnyjim quoted the post above his cos it's all messed up. My bad.

Where did I say he had lost the dressing room?

The most infuriating thing about Ferguson is his teams' inability to do the basics well. Last season was the same, but we had enough firepower to do well in League 2 regardless.

Shrewsbury weren't world-beaters on Tuesday but they were organised, giving themselves a fighting chance of winning the game after we'd ran out of steam. I suppose that's why they are racking up narrow victories like crazy at the moment.

You're obviously not here then as the first goal came from a cross and not a corner

Great post - 100% agree. This is how we succeeded at this level when we won this league. Do the basics right, make yourself difficult to beat - DF can not seem to grasp this basic tactic. TAXI NOW!

Is Adkins still out of work. Always liked him. His rep took a bit of a hit at Sheffield u but I think he would do better than fergi imo. I'm not saying  fegi must go but things need to pick up fast or we will end up back in l2.

How many more games do we give him? Before we know it Xmas is on us and we are even deeper in the relegation zone than we are now - no real confidence of our getting out of it if this run goes on for a few more games.

Calm down
Look at Plymouth,Portsmouth and Blackpool
We are all struggling to settle
2 good wins and we are happy again
There were plenty of chances today

He has one game to save his job for me.
If we don't win next weekend he should go

I was sat in bradford end in front of our directors and they looked furious at the end... ALL OF THEM THAT IS. Doesn't look good, shocking performance that was.

There’s  clearly no depth in the squad to changes things , there’s  no height up front but keep urging high balls in the box , too many players fall not doing their simple things at set pieces . There’s  lack of ideas / confidence throughout the team . For all our possession we don’t show creativity in the box .
There’s no determination to win second balls or press when around the oppositions penalty area . We are an easy team to frustrate because our heads go down when we fail to convert our chances and when go behind . We giving away weight , height , strength and experience to teams who don’t look like winning until we’re exposed .
