« on January 01, 2018, 02:52:19 pm by Filo »
On dealing with a dodgy plasterer that refuses to issue me with the warrenty for damp work he did for me in July?

It's been going on too long now, he lives in Moorends for anyone considering using him in that area, beware he's a dodgy t**t, got a nice website, so I thought he was cosha, a f**king Sheff Utd fan as well

Good Lord man, what were you thinking?!

I imagine this’d be a civil matter. What’s his reason for refusing, just out of interest?

He had n't got a readon until I put the bad review on Yell about 3 weeks ago, now he's telling me to take it down before I get the Warrenty, I refused

Well, then just take down the review, get the warranty off him, and then put the review back on?

I don't trust him, I said I'd take down the review when he sent the Warrenty, but as yet no Warrenty, I'm going to get in touch with the company who's products he uses, it is their Warrenty, but he should fill the paperwork in for them to send it, he has n't even sent the paperwork in my opinion

Presumably if the warranty is part of the price of the whole job then therefore you haven't received what you've paid for. Trading Standards might be interested but you could threaten him with small claims court for the the full cost of the job, or for having to hire someone to do the properly and give you a warranty.

However, going to the supplier might get results in the short term. Either they could lean on the bloke, or possibly - if you suggest it to them - they might send someone to look at the job and issue a warranty directly themselves. They won't want to have their integrity impugned by a cowboy.

The last paragraph were my thoughts as well, but I was also thinking of the small claims court, he's had over £900 off me,

The danger with small claims though is that they may decide that the value of the warranty is £20 and that's what you'd get awarded as you've received everything else you paid for. And he could still ignore it.
