Fergie really needs to have a word with himself about his obsession with playing players out of position. Playing Rowe at left back is criminal. In my opinion he is by far our best creative attacking player so he plays him at left back where he can’t influence the game. For the first 40 minuted Rowe didn’t know whether to stay back or push forward. Blair started in central midfield and was again like a fish out of water.
Ferguson setting the team up like that put us on the back foot from the start.
Today’s first half performance was the worst I’d seen all season. Round pegs in round holes please Fergie.

I too couldn’t agree more. It was desperately disjointed. Problems of our own making that were glaringly obvious.

Should have played Garrett not Mason at left back,teams have to play a left footed player there, left midfield is not as important as left back for left footer.

We have found ourselves chasing games too often through playing players out of position then changing things to where they should have been at the start.

I fully agree. Get Rowe where it hurts other teams. If he doesn't like Garrett sell him.  Thought mason did well too.

Our midfield without Rowe lacks creativity.

I'm afraid you were then BST because Mason definitely started at right back with Tommy Rowe at left back.
Fergie then switched it midway through the half with Blair right back, Mason left back and Rowe in midfield.

Rowe definitely started the game at left back, Mason at right back and Blair in midfield. They then switched it around a few times with Mason at left back and Blair right back and Rowe further forward. Finished with Rowe at left back again.

All the while we had a left back (who I gather did well at Portsmouth) on the bench.

I missed the first 5 minutes so I can’t vouch for that. But Mason was at left back and Blair at rightback for the rest of the first half.
Rowe went to left back after Kiwomya came on for Mason with about 20 mins left.

They didn’t change positions until the 40th minute.i was amazed it took him so long to change it as it clearly was not working
