He was limping in the first half and I was surprised when he came back out. And he just carried on limping until he came off

Marquis should've scored was a common phrase last season and already been said in a couple of games this season. hope it doesn't become a common phrase again :s

Blatant pen. We look v poor defending any attack from shrews and slow and predictable up front. On top of that massive ques in South stand for food and one without any food on sale at all. So much for looking forward to my first game this season. Nothing's changed from last season.........

Here's hoping for better 2nd half

On the contrary we have looked dangerous going forward, at times, especially in the first 25 mins..

You have a  very short memory I'm afraid. Replace GM with DF from last season and the game would have been  an almost carbon copy from rovers. For me it was sign of a clear lack if investment in the squad from the bd. If they had someone who could shoot we would have lost that game 2 or 3 nil. The only thing I'll give GM allowance for is that he's not been here long. That said I can see his style and tactics being easily found out and defeated as almost that which happened today. Looks like our only aim this year is to stay up again

f**king hell here we go... knew the budget would come back up as soon as we weren't winning every single game for the rest of time.

Short memory?  Those were my thoughts whilst in the stadium last night, commenting on the game.

I was also at the Wycombe game where almost the same team dominated and could have won by 6 or 7..

You will get different performances on different days with the same set of players, that’s why they are in league one and not higher.

I agree with you that different opposition will bring different results. the shrews are a good team and they will be up there again this season if they can put the chances away.

I came to the game hoping to see a completely different team to that of DF given what I had heard and maybe my hopes were too high.

I can see the full backs pushing up high and was v evident at the beginning of the game for the first 10 - 15 minutes. The problem is that if we do not take our chances and the other team come back into the game they start to get pushed further back.

I quite enjoyed the first 20 - 25 mins and with better finishing, a little more luck we could have scored.

When Shrews realised we seem reluctant to go through the middle though, the crosses were becoming bread and butter for their defenders e.g. how many poorly/pointless corners did we take without making them count.

Our defenders are not bad and there will definitely be worse in this league but. We cannot defend crosses or corners still............................. how they did not score from one baffles and also delights me

We just looked no different to last season but worse for a period it felt in the 2nd half almost back to Dickov days of disparity. We are a good team but not one that will challenge without investment.

Something the board seem reluctant to do. Yes I know we have the blah blah biggest budget in the league, not increasing this (as I understand is the case) on a yearly basis so the manager at least has a transfer kitty to spend and add quality/potential to the squad means we will eventually either just stand still or be left behind in league 2

There
