Rumour has it that they're going to start charging people to park. For anyone who goes there anyway.

Won't even make a difference in terms of Kitsons parking outside my house cos they already f**king do that.

As I understand it, the plan that came into operation on 1st October is that parking is limited to 4 hours and a £100 parking charge will be levied for overstays.  Also, a charge of £100 will be levied for anyone not parking between the lines of their parking bay - wheel on the line and it's £100.  Further, a £100 charge will be levied for anyone 'abusing the Disabled and Parent & Child bays.
 
I also understand that anyone who goes to Bingo there has to 'register' their cars at the counter to avoid a charge as they will almost certainly exceed the 4 hour limit.
 
The solution to this is, of course, simple - shop elsewhere.

The line thing is a bit excessive but the four hour rule is fairly standard to be honest, and there's not really an awful lot around that area other than the shopping centre.

You could easily be in there more than 4 Hours at Christmas trying to get out  !

Disabled / Parent and Child / and the "new" Electric Charging Spots all get abused wherever they are !

Forgot to say, it's also ANPR Camera monitored; so not dependant on an attendant walking round for timing.  Though an attendant does walk round checking for parking irregularities.
 
Yes, it's quite easy to be there in excess of 4 hours - especially if you include having a bite of lunch in the caffe's there.

Because of numpties who don’t care if they bang their car doors into mine, I only park there if I can get onto a bay at either end of the parking lines.
I will admit that I then park a few inches outside of the bay, but on the side without a car there so I don’t deny someone a parking spot.
Very often, parking bay sizes are not taking into consideration that cars are wider than they used to be.

Wasn't a dig at you, more the Kitsons who dump their wreck any f**king where they feel like in the middle of the car park. I'm the same with my car, I always try and get in at the ends as I usually have a couple of sprogs in the back...

The same people who dont care how they Park are also the ones who probably abandon their Cars on Double Yellow Lines or worse in the Zig Zags of a Pedestrian Crossing (try Thorne any time and see a working example)

I was recently held up by one such parker outside Willaspoons who was dropping off a Passenger. Poor parking I thought as he was obstructing the view of any Pedestrians going on th Crossing from anu approaching Cars.

He was parked on the left and so with cars coming towards me I had to give way - then out pops the Passenger from the front seat and he runs to the back of the Car and ran across the Zebra. Of course he saw I was stopped already but did not think of the car coming the other way who could not see him because of the Car he had just left behind. Result - one huge Emergency Stop - and his first Pint delayed by a few seconds, Did the driver mend his ways ? Doubt it

Couldn't agree more on this, does my head in. My old car got a dint in the door, I took it for a quote, and in the time I was thinking about having it done some t**t then did exactly the same thing about 6 inches further along the door!

Bought a new car and within a week somebody had scratched the front bumper, I just can't be arsed getting it fixed as it will only happen again. Like you say, I try to park out the way but even in an empty car park someone always seem to manage to park next to me, about 3 inches away! A lot of the time I can park in the parent and child places when I've got the kids with me which does help, but as people say you get morons with no kids parking in these too. What I don't really get with parent and child spaces is why they put them so close to the shop. I am really not bothered about having to walk, stick them as far from the doors as possible, I just want the extra room!

The electric vehicle spaces at Asda are constantly abused, I quite often make remarks to the missus such as 'Check that out, Kia were way ahead of the times, making an electric Rio in 2006...'

Ha Ha - just what I say all the time ! Once saw Nissan Leaf who obviously wanted to charge his Car whilst in the shop BUT there were three non Electric Cars in the Three spots

I said if I were him I would park right behind the 3 of them and then go shopping. First one back would have to go to Customer Services and put a call out for the Leafs Owner. "I" would then come back as quickly as I could (10 minutes minimum) and say "sorry needed to charge it up and could not go an inch further" Then I would say "it might have enough left to move it now" and miraculously I could move a yard or so to let them out

Whether I would have the b***s to do that is open for discussion

The worst offenders for parking in mother and child spaces when they don’t have kids with them are............young women drivers.
They probably do have kids themselves but often I see them roll up and park in one of those spaces but get out by themselves.
No kids in the car.
