I have just read the “Coppinger in numbers” article on the DROS.
In the goalscoring stats section they have said that Alick JEFFREYS is second in the all time list of top scorers.

This game also marks my 1000th consecutive DRFC league game.

Christ up above! You've had some resolve.

Bugger Coops. If the club is reading this, you want giving the VIP treatment on Satdi. And if the Queen is reading, you deserve the George Cross.

Most importantly - if true - is that he chose to start watching Rovers during 97/98. Sadism aside, who would voluntarily make that choice.

Not quite; the last game I missed was Cambridge away in late October 1996. My car broke down en-route. Typically, we won. John Schofield, our current coach, scored in a 1-0 win.

No excuse. Should've f**ked the car off and cadged a lift.

If you hadn't missed that match how many would you be up to now?

About 100 more, the run would only have been 2 more years.

Unfortunately not that easy. I was on the edge of Melton Mowbray (I live in Nottingham), so not many passing rovers fans there....

I used to hitch hike all over the country with a mate of mine when I was about 14 to 16.

Not many Rovers fans around in some of the areas that we got lifts.

Not if you are a senior though like me.

You do get it fairly cheap as it is. What’s this years work out at? Tenner a game?

The two season offer gives me my ticket for £13.04 a game which I and two friends have taken up this morning.
It’s another positive step by the club in fan engagement and should be applauded.
Hopefully next year will be a Championship season as well :-)

Only joking fella, that's some achievement.

I’m with you drfchound  on this one. If you’re able to stand and applaud OUR legend tomorrow then let’s show him what he means to us all. Four generations of my family have had the privilege to watch this amazing player and is it any surprise,he’s the favourite of us all?
I sincerely hope his family are there to attend and to see, those journeys from Guisborough 5/6 days a week are worth it at moments like tomorrow.

Im going to wear my Copps 500th Shirt as well just for today - and I am donating my Framed Copps 500th Captains Armband (signed of course) to adorn the Wall in BVB

Was good to see the Legend get his just rewards

Suspect there was collusion as we kicked the wrong way in the First Half maybe to ensure Copps was at the right end on minutes

Also their Keeper obligingly kicked the Ball out (which JM duly returned directly to him) allowing most of our Players to applaud as well while Oxford had a drink

Well done to all if I am remotely right !

Oxford won the toss and chose to kick the other way to avoid the low sun. Nothing to do with Coppinger. Wilks got "injured" right on 26 minutes, that may have been intentional.

Aye, I thought the break was choreographed but I'm not so sure about the kick off.
