minutes applause / silence
« on January 26, 2019, 07:51:36 pm by esdailles left foot »
With all due respect to the sad news of the plane being lost this week, have we really got to have this outpouring of public mourning to something that has nothing to do with our club. Sorry but it's just gone too far. If it's rovers related not a problem but it seems it's something every week. where does it end.

I had to agree myself. Other Clubs did it but that does not mean every Club should do it

The Pilot was living in Crowle but not sure he had any connections to Rovers except the McKay one and your last sentence sums it up for me

I know I may be in a minority but I do think sometimes we commemorate some sad events that we should leave alone - and on the other hand there are ones which can never be ignored

Although there is virtually no chance of survival there is no confirmation of their deaths yet. I had a problem with that yesterday.

It was a decision take by the EFL. The club wouldn't have arbitrarily decided to do this.

I thought it may be a "blanket" EFL thing and whilst it IS tremendously sad (they were probably dead on impact) the EFL should have made a suggestion that Clubs could choose to go with the Applause or not and left it at that

Who knows if the Pilot has a local connection - but if he had then we could have chosen "yes" whereas other Ties / Clubs could have chosen "no"

Still seems churlish to be batting this around but as the OP says "where will this all end" ?
