Taylor and Lund
« on January 31, 2019, 02:01:57 pm by The Red Baron »
Anyone heard anything about these two? Earlier in the month Rovers were discussing paying up their contracts so they could be free agents.

Of course we might want to keep Lund now given the situation with Mason.

Taylor has left the club after reaching agreement on remainder of his contract.Lund has also reached agreement to terminate his but is still here as we help him recover from a injury..

We are also in talks to cancel the contracts of 3 first year pro's from last season...

That's from the freepress mate

Yes they were...I'm hoping that the new development squad regime will pay dividends going forward..We have a lot of history of offering bright young talented lads a pro contract after graduating from the youth set up...But they then don't kick on and are released..The list is endless..

Hopefully from now on they can then advance into this development team set up and carry on progressing and not fall in the void imbetween, which has been the case in the last 5 years or so

Perhaps Taylor could get a deal at Sunderland!

I bet that every club has young players who fail in their first one or two years as pro's.
it wont just be the Rovers.

Taylor and Lund confirmed as having left, also Fletcher, James and Morris leaving with contracts cancelled.

Morris has signed for Stocksbridge Park Steels where another former Rovers youngster, Reece Fielding, is playing.

I think Taylor could do a good job for a L2 team.
I reckon he does have ability, it’s just his application and whether he can remain focussed. I believe he has had personal difficulties over the last few years and I wish him strength and success.

As for Mitchell Lund, I really hope he finds a League club and rebuilds his career.

I had a lovely chat with his Mum years ago, the week after Mitchell got his first professional contract with Rovers.
She was so proud.

There are human stories behind these cancelled contracts. It’s not just a case of players staying or players leaving, for some of them it can be devastating.

Good luck to Taylor and Lund from me.

Lund never seemed to be the same player after he got that nasty kick in the back and bruised his kidneys. I don't know if it was the injury itself or the psychological effect.

Good luck to all the players released. It’s a tough career to make it to the professional level and maintain it. I hope they all find clubs and move forwards.

It is very tough to make it to pro level PDX.
it always amuses me when I hear people saying that certain players are rubbish.
