I see that a couple of these "protesters" have glued themselves to a train on the Docklands Light Railway. I thought these people were in favour of public transport?

Personally I think it's just an excuse for mindless vandalism.

There's bound to be an element in the group there for the protest not for the actual point - there always is.  Some people unfortunately are of that mindset and don't actually think about the impact things have on other people eg people perhaps trying to get to funerals, family, hospitals etc.  I saw this first hand with a socialist campaigner outside my office when my previous company went in to liquidation, very disgraceful IMO.

The actual point those fully behind their point is fully valid.  The whole world should be doing something to combat emissions etc, but that is not happening and is one of the biggest problems in modern time and will be a big impact on modern history.

I think if they went on a demo in Trafalgar Square or somewhere and raised their issues without grinding London to a gridlock, inconveniencing thousands of people, smashing windows, gluing themselves to trains, vandalising property and spraying paint everywhere, the public at large may have a bit more sympathy for them. They are just making themselves look like a bunch of spoilt, middle class, children out for a jolly up with their chums over Easter. I'll bet the have a right giggle about it all when they get back to the common room at school/uni. Even worse are the older ones who should know better.
Apparently the cheapest fully accessible transport for the disabled in London is the bus network, but these people don't care about them either as long as they are making their point.

They probably should protest in Westminster when they're actually in but stuff like this is shocking from the interviewer.

Check out @SkyTNewton’s Tweet: https://twitter.com/SkyTNewton/status/1118447883911671809?s=09

Interviewers should ask questions and try and get answers. Insults do nothing to add to the discussion.

Sky seem to be turning into Fox News lately. Just the other day a presenter completely stopped doing their job and decided to just start flinging insults at people.

What's the fixation with glue all of a sudden?

Listen to Nick Ferrari? No. I was sticking pins in my gonads. I find it less painful and more useful.

Billy, you never fail to perplex me. Most of your disciples on here are undoubtably lefties, and yet you have admitted that you've never rated Tony Benn, Dennis Skinner, and Jeremy Corbyn, all of whom will be absolute heroes to those numpties protesting in London.

Strange, that.

Go figure. Maybe things are a bit more complicated than just being black and white.

By the way, for someone who is obviously mature, you don't half sound juvenile when you talk about "disciples".

I see the plod are being their usual useless self.
If that was a group of lads going to the football they would get the crap beaten out of them, but because it's middle class hippies they're having a dance with them! FFS.

Yes obviously someone keeping Tropical Fish has got fed up with the Piranhas and liberated them into a local lake rather than find them a home where they would perhaps survived

76 f down to 45 f would do them no good of course.

Probably did not eat the ducklings as they would have been fighting for their lives (and losing of course)

Do you mean like the difference in police funding for searching for a missing McCann child compared to a missing Needham child, and why they seemed to grant McCann's more investigation time?

If the McCann's had been a working class family they would have probably been nicked for child neglect.

Back on subject, the Labour Party, and the left of the Establishment, have quite rightly over the last few years advocated the use of public transport, thus cutting down carbon emissions, and lessening traffic congestion.

So what do the protesters do? Attempt to halt public transport.

Priceless.

Regardless of if you agree with their point or not these protesters have behaved like absolute arseholes all week, aided and assisted by the plod. I thought the OB were supposed to be there to serve and protect the general public going about their daily lives, not have a party in the park with a rag tag army of professional trouble causers.

Happening daily around Nottingham which is strange as the City has introduced a parking levy to reduce numbers of cars, invested heavily in electric trams and will probably jump on the environmental charges as soon as they can. Wonder how many ambulances were held up in all this, how many people missed hospital/doctors appointments, interviews, funerals etc. And did any one of the drivers held up in all this switch their engines off, doubt it. I'm amazed that there has been no reports of violence towards these people locally.
So much for climate change protests!

My thoughts today are with the climate change protester on Waterloo Bridge, who collapsed and was rushed to hospital.

Police believe that moment's before he collapsed his parents had rung him to inform him that he's got a job...

I think that the point these people are trying to make is that any inconvenience felt now by their actions is FA to how ‘inconvenient’ things will be if we don’t try to reduce the impact we are having on the climate. Climate change is real and our impact on it is real and the effects of this will be devastating to the planet.

Not sure how we came to a point where we believe bluff/bluster over scientific fact.     We must be at that demographic where there were more kids having a fag being the sports hall than those passing their a levels.

As a scientist when you publicise a theory it has to  be tested by fellow scientists.     The bluff merchantants just have to shout like Father Jack

Bang on Coventry.

As I've said before, it's truly bizarre how many folk are prepared to ignore peer-reviewed science (because it tells them things they don't want to hear) but are prepared to listen to unqualified gobshites like James Delingpole.
