The last time that Charlton Athletic lost at home - which was to us.

They will talk about having half a team out but don’t forget that day there was no Copps either in team or on bench, and Alfie May started for us. This was also one of very few occasions ever when Marquis has been subbed...to be replaced by Paul Taylor. Wilks was also on bench for most of the game.

Only three teams - Rovers, Coventry and Wycombe have scored more than one goal at The Valley this season. All three teams managing two goals so no side not Sunderland, Luton or Dingles have scored more than Rovers there this season

I think that’s clutching at straws a bit comparing their weakened side to ours - Wilks was in and out of the team around that time as he wasn’t playing very well, and Coppinger’s game time has been managed all season. Charlton played a severely weakened team - I remember seeing and lumping on as it was effectively our first choice vs their reserves - in fact I don’t think they even named a full bench.

Still, we’ve got one result there this season, no reason that we can’t get another.

Nil-nil at h/t will do me on Friday.

Make the whole tie a 45 minute game.  Charlton went more and more defensive yesterday as the game wore on, and I think they will be in a bit of a difficult position.  Do they protect what they have, or do they try to add to it?  They might start out with lots of attacking intent, but if we can get to h/t with them still having not scored on the night then its proper game on!

I think Charlton will seek to kill the game off as soon as they can.
