No doubt about it this pre season has been a complete shambles. However a lot of people are coming on here and having a go at each other but one thing is true no matter what opinion we have on matters we all want the club to do well.
I feel that what Grant McCann did was really sore but if he genuinely did not know about the move then who can blame him for grabbing his chance on climbing the league ladder. what did result from this though is him leaving the squad thread bare, he obviously had targets lined up to replace the outgoings which some have gone on to sign for Hull City.
The process for replacing Grant with Darren Moore i believe could have been done a lot quicker and whilst i was one for bringing Darren Moore back to the club i feel he wasn't quite prepared as well as what Grant was. Grant inherited a squad which was far more stronger than the one Darren has inherited. In saying that the Board said there was signings ready to go, however you can appreciate that Darren wants his own players and i can understand this. Darren needs to move quickly though and a club should be pro active rather than reactive which we seem to be at the moment. so come on Darren show the fans something to give us hope.
As for the board i feel they need to learn from this as well act quicker they said they knew darren was the man they wanted from the outset so go get him straight away. The club did not have the time to play with. this has now left the club in a situation where we are now desperate for players to come in and other clubs knowing this so the fees go higher.
On John Marquis i actually feel this is good business for the club as although he scored the goals they was in fits and starts and if he had been more consistent then things last season could have been much more different.
I am not entirely convinced that family reasons were the reason for moving and i would love to know if a northern championship or league one club came in for him whether he would have gone i.e Sunderland i simply believe that he just didn't think we were going anywhere soon but that is just my opinion of course.
So in summary i believe the club now has to show some hope by signing some good players immanently and Darren shows his metal. as for the board learn from this and move forward. Us fans and i include myself in this rally around the club give it your support and become one, respect each others opinions and dont bark at the point we disagree with someone elses opinion.
This club could be great, this club is great.
