Whiteman

Is he the best since Ian Snodin. Think this is the last year in a rovers shirt. Loved Stock but for me Whiteman is a better player.

I keep voting for him as MOTM. Great player in relative terms of course

Tremendous shot on him (but we cant keep relying in that) - goals must be found elsewhere

Deadly from the Penalty spot - I dont wonder if he is going to score - he IS going to score

Whats not to like !  :scarf:

Would put him in same boat as Marquis was last season. If we go up, then we have a realistic chance of keeping him. If we are in League One next season then no way will he be here (but unlike Marquis he really will go to the Championship). Either way, he should sign a new contract now and he should not, whatever offer we get landed with, go in January. Only a fool does any business in January. Close the shop up and turn the answerphone off.

Wolfie, I also really like Whiteman but I wish he would sometimes put his laces through a shot rather than always side footing it.

If he does that he WILL break the Bar or Post. Sidefooting it nearly does it already !

I thought exactly the same yesterday. I do now believe he's a better player than Stock was.

Whiteman is fantastic but Stock was doing it in the Championship. Until Whiteman is up against a similar level of player week in, week out, it’s a bit early to make that call.

I agree Nick, Stock was a very intelligent player. He wasn't as dynamic as Whiteman perhaps but he ran the show so often for us and worked brilliantly with Richie Wellens.

Whiteman may go on to greater things in the game than Stock but it's far too early to call him better.

If anyone went to the Rovers v Leeds friendly, earlier this season, they would be forgiven for thinking Stocky could still be doing it now. He was pinging the ball about all over the place and to teammates I should add. Form is temporary, but class is permanent as they say.

Alan agree with that granted it was played at a slower pace but Stock still had class in abundance

Taking comps out of the equation as he's not quite a midfielder, imo stock is the classiest midfielder I've ever seen at rovers - tho Ian snodin was also amazing - I also had a lot of time (perhaps surprisingly) for Lee Warren.

Whiteman has looked very good every time I've seen him play tho and will definitely command a big fee when he leaves assuming of course he doesn't let a contract run down.
