The Dirty War on the NHS
« on December 17, 2019, 03:59:29 pm by albie »
ITV are showing the new John Pilger film this evening, at 10.45pm.

All Pilger films are worth watching......pity it was not broadcast before the election!

Lol. I bet you can't guess why it wasn't... Or rather can!

You're right. Pilger is a top class investigative reporter.

Cheers

If you missed it last night, the film is on catch up for the next 28 days;

Those who don't understand what "patient dumping" is would probably find the opening sequence helpful.

Just watched this.... I was fully aware of the amount of privatisation that was happening but even this made my mouth open.... Its maddening just how much we have been lied to by politicians from ALL parties over the last 20/30 years....
Politicians in this country are an utter disgrace....

If you're thinking that the NSW is in safe hands then think again, if you haven't watched this then you are underinformed.

NHS admin/management costs up from 5% to 15% (could be higher didn't note it down)

Matt Hancock is a mouthpiece for Babble-on the operators of Hinchingbrooke Hospital still being touted as a success by some.

He wants to incorporate AI into consultations developed by Babble-on.

Pilger took a trip to the US and showed patient dumping is rife where existing patients get in the way of the income stream and are literally dumped out of the hospitals.

I know what you're thinking this is the UK it wouldn't happen here, would it?

Hinchingbrooke created competition between staff to evict patients early on daily ward rounds.

The NHS hospital entry bar is set so high that mental patients and others either can't get in or are discharged early two churches in London St Barnba and St Stevens try to deal with some of these people.

Good noos regarding private health care in Virginia USA it’s free, the bad noos is it’s only for 1 day per year and the main reason for bankruptcy in the US of A is healthcare costs. 20,000 people die each year because they cannot afford insurance.

According to a report 120,000 people die early in the UK directly due to Austerity.

Privatisation started by Thatcher, made worse by Blair and it looks like the nail in the coffin was the 2012 Healthcare act is directly responsible for moving the NHS over to private care.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_and_Social_Care_Act_2012

And there's more.

why the guy who has made the film is just political, they start by saying about people using private hospitals that have not had good treatment i including myself have been referred to a private hospital and had wonderful treatment it’s just individual cases

I'm outraged by all political parties and the way they have treated the NHS and lied to us the tax payers about it.... Why does this forum turn everything into a Tory v Labour argument when the fact is we are lied to by politicians of ALL parties....
The NHS has been used and will continue to be used as a play thing by people that couldn't give two stuffs about it and who's only concern is to make money from it! It's an utter disgrace!

Blackpool,

Did you watch the whole film?
The reason I ask is that your posts suggest that you have not...better to post after seeing it first!

New Labour were rightly criticised for PFI, but the Tories have been in power for 10 years since.

If you did, what do you reckon to the 1 day field hospital in Virginia....it shocked me, it was like MASH in the fifties war zone.

The BBC were telling about the US intentions from back in January 2019;
https://www.bbc.com/news/business-47036119

I don't see why that will change going forward.

According to a report out today, the Government have invited private firms to bid for the provision of NHS cardiology, paediatrics and gynaecology services. Weren’t some people on here trying to convince us that the NHS was safe with the Tories? Weren’t some on her claiming that the sale of NHS services was some Marxist propaganda? Not taken long to be proven wrong unfortunately.

Reality bites HA, if this is the way forward and there's unlikely to be another way I can see with the budget still struggling in a couple of years the likelyhood of co-payments being bandied around to 'test the waters'
