Liverpool v Atlético

The government’s deputy chief scientific adviser, Angela McLean:

''Links between the outbreak of coronavirus in Liverpool and the Champions League tie at Anfield attended by more than 3,000 Atlético Madrid supporters should be explored''

She told a reporter from the Liverpool Echo: “I’m genuinely sad to hear that so many people in Liverpool have been unwell and so many have died. I think it would be very interesting to see in the future when all the science is done what relationship there is between the viruses that have circulated in Liverpool and the viruses that have circulated in Spain.”

as i said

personally i think they (the government) want to get the other side of the Cheltenham Festival before action is taken

Cheltenham and the Liverpool match with extra time were in the same week .

But what better way would there have been to make the government unpopular than to cancel both (assuming they could have cancelled the Liverpool match)

People power "won" on this occassion   and the consequences "allegedly" followed ??
