*Update*

With the weather forecasters predicting temperatures being up to 18 or 19 degrees on Sunday it's decided we'll have our fIrst Cleethorpes ride-out of the year. Meet at Holme Lane bridge for setting off at 11am, arrive at Cleggy for around 1pm - fish& chips plus ice-cream then a steady ride back.

*After a few concerns we shall cycle two abreast 2 metres apart and keep 2 metres infront/behind one another.

Theres a simple solution regarding people flouting the rules in tomorrows good weather, order every business to close on a Sunday and declare that anyone out and about will be stopped and fined, if people won’t listen then make them listen

"after careful considerations and consultations with the police we have decided to cancel the event "!!

What that means is that someone reported the event to the police and they got a severe warning about stupidity!!!

That brings back memories Wilts, I've only ever been at a couple the first at the Toby Jug and later at a pub in Kendal

And today the government is threatening to impose further restrictions on going out for exercise, because of the selfish t**ts ignoring the current rules..

One snag is the shopping thing.

Its about a 3 week wait for a delivery from big Supermartkets and so if you are under 70 (I am just 6 months short) as far as I know there is no way I can order stuff to be delivered - so I just have to go out and get what I / we need and I HATE it.

I dont want to be out and about but in a way I am forced out like this morning. OK the Supers are doing their best but there is vitually no chance of staying 2 metres from everyone in the Shop. It is just a case of trying to do your best and hope if someone comes nearer to you than that they are not "carrying"

Wish they would do Click and Collect again at Supers then you could order and do a short drive pick up what they have got ready and having paid already they could put down your stuff at a safe distance and you pick it up and go. Many less people then in the shop for the ones with no Internet etc

Been to our local Tesco this morning (Oakham) - controlled entry but not too long in the queue.  Apart from flour being missing and not much pasta, stocks seemed almost normal.  In the course of a week we have to go to the shops 2/3 times to get the things we need, due to shortages preventing this done in one go.  Of course I would rather just go once, but it is pot luck whether deliveries have recently been.  Hopefully touch wood, with the lockdown now in force for nearly a fortnight, then the panic buying and hoarding is easing off.

There is plenty of stuff - we are fortunate in that we don’t need to isolate (yet) so can get to the supermarket and don’t need to rely on deliveries..

We have a Butcher/Deli, a Fruit n Veg who have both started free home deiveries if required and a NISA in our village shops which apart from the pasta and tinned tomatos are meeting most of our needs. If necessary we have Little Sainsburys on the Main Road at the top of the village but so far we have managed to avoid using it
Ocado has now got it's act together for it's regular shoppers and we now get priority access to their delivery and order section so we managed a delivery from them last week.we are isolating so Son in Law is doing all the running round for us when he shops for them once a week. If we really fancied it we have a Wood fired Pizza van in the village every Weds and our local Indian Restaurant which is part of my local pub is doing take aways and deliveries so all in all at the moment things aren't too bad around here

Actually Wilts, that is a very good point and might explain why our curve seems to have bent later than Italy and France. It would mean that our epidemic was more advanced when we locked down than those countries. That would be, frankly, a dereliction of duty by the Govt.

Yes thanks for that update Muttley. I have read elsewhere that Asda have got their C&C up and running again although the person writing it said they booked at Midnight (better than going into the Shop though). They also said the slots were all on at 3am

I would be thinking Midnight is way past my bedtime and wouldnt be hanging about till 3 am to see if they were sold out lol

Cheers again

All the big supermarkets have click and collect in operation but slots for pickups are like rocking horse poo.

They are now working with the government and putting into place priority delivery slots for folk on the vulnerable persons lists so if you fall into this category its worth checking regularly.

Tesco are starting from this week. We have also got an extra van starting as soon as we can get it staffed. Orders are being capped at 80 items so we can make more deliveries and driving regulations have been relaxed so we can work for more hours.

Last week was our busiest week on record and this weeks orders seem to be topping that.

Cheers. We've doubled deliveries within 3 weeks yet demand far outweighs that. We have another van going live next week yet no new drivers to man it so no doubt rest days will be further impacted.
