Portsmouth and Ipswich matches
« on October 15, 2020, 02:19:05 pm by Dutch Uncle »
I see that our three defeats this season have all come in Lancashire against ex Premier League clubs who play in Blue.

With our next two matches coming up being tough ones, I really hope that the Lancashire part is the strongest link.

So far we have done sod all in the league this season to gain the nickname the "laundary men"  (no clean sheets)  so  i will settle for Portsmouth "0" and take if from there.  I have highlighted on here before (see Stevenage game etc) how bad their defence is (their centre half went to a European club ) . i have a feeling they let MK Dons have the ball at home to cover their defensive issues (and they have scoring issues)

they also seem vulnerable to fast breakaway attacks ...  shame JJ & Tulloch probably wont play

4 points. I'm sure Uncle Darren will get them back at it.

Touchwood, but we do seem to have a decent record at Fratton Park.  :scarf:

Thank goodness the curse seems to be geographically limited  ;)

Let's hope it is confined to Red Rose country.

Fab Fact
The most points we have got off Ipswich and Portsmouth in a season is 3 in total, in both 10/11 when we beat Portsmouth once (away), and in 11/12 when we beat Ipswich once (away).

2 of the best teams in the league and we beat them both, just need to keep grinding out the wins

Nobody getting carried away here, but as results go, that was as emphatic as any. Got to follow that up now, with another 3 points on Saturday and it won’t be easy.

If only we had converted some of the zillion first half chances against Wigan
