A Proud Moment.......
« on November 08, 2020, 11:29:04 am by rover-n-out »
........for Louis Jones family, my late brother Dickie and his wife Val are Louis's grandparents, sadly my brother and Val both passed away a couple of years ago, so never got to see Louis progress to the first team.
As a lifelong Rovers supporter, my brother would have swelled with pride seeing Louis on the tele yesterday representing his beloved Rovers.
When I think of all the top class keepers we have had over the years, it makes Louis's achievement all the more special, and although he didn't have much to do yesterday, he looked calm and assured, his kicking and distribution was good, and the one cross he had to come and get, he caught very confidently.
Congratulations, and well done Louis, your Grandad and Grandma would be so proud of you.

Beautiful post. That gets to the heart of why we love this game.

Thought he did well and handled the pressure of TV and the cup game very well, glad to see him get his chance expect he will play again Vs wolves on Tuesday.

No noticeable errors so all good nothing he could do about the goal almost got to it too

Well done as a donny local lad just keep taking his chance future number 1 hopefully

He looked very assured and confident. A big well done and hope he continues to progress. Home grown talent is the clubs future and its so nice to read about how much it means to his family but sad that his grandparents weren't able to see it.

Thank you guys for your positive comments, I'll pass them on to his mum, I know she is so proud of his achievements with Rovers.

I hope he plays many years for us, between the  sticks. He looks very promising to me. Plus he?s one of our own. Well done young sir.

He may be understudy this season but i think he has a great opportunity to become our 1st choice if not this season then next.
I really hope he grabs the chance to be no 1 at Rovers for many years to come.

Think Mark Samways was the last home grown Keeper we had and we have to go back over 30 yrs to his time between the sticks.

Best of luck to him. So sorry his Grandparents didn’t see him pull on the Rovers jersey. Sure they would have been very proud. No doubt they will be looking down from above.
