Worst 45 mins in 20 years

I said this on Lucky Pint and I’ll say it again, I think Sunderland were terrific first half, they didn’t let us play at all. Sometimes you’ve just got to accept the other team was better.
Not sure myself about John at left back, maybe Moore prefers to have a bit more height for set pieces, especially with Sunderland being a very big side. I can remember Gareth Roberts, in the SOD era, great going forward but his opposite number would sneak a goal every other week from a set piece.

Gareth Roberts was arguably the best left back we’ve ever had. I don’t remember these goals every other week that his lack of height caused.

You might think Sunderland were terrific - their fans don’t appear to agree, nor do the majority of ours. They were organised and had a game plan but that doesn’t take away from the fact that we were well below par - lethargic and sloppy. A massive proportion of the continually missed passes didn’t come from them aggressively pressing, they came when we had plenty of time and space.

What on earth was that??? Looks like we’re scared of Sunderland as usual, and absolutely nothing offered anywhere, these were there for the taking, big 2nd half needed boys!!!

not the worst but definitely up there with the best of them
