Well I enjoyed the season immensely. Winning football. Fantastic away performances. I don’t remember any hoof ball football. Yes it wasn’t as pretty as SOD’s way of playing agreed.
It was a proper team with a fantastic team spirit. A winning mentality.

I never understand the criticism that team gets. We were Champions at the end of the season if my memory serves me correctly. What was there not to like?

I do remember us putting in some pretty poor performances at home. Our home form was relatively poor that year. If you didn't get to a lot of away games I can see why you'd dislike it.  I was lucky enough to go to a fair few away games that year and it was always fantastic. Probably the best season for away days I can remember.

We also had some real quality in that side as well. Cotterill, Copps, Spurr, Lundstram - it wasn't all grafting mesters.

I went to quite a few that season and Stevenage was my favourite one, closely followed by Bournemouth. The least favourite without a doubt MK Dons. We were absolutely clueless.
I let someone else have the chance of my Brentford ticket even though I was a STH as I had been there previously.
I then had the torture of listening at home. The agony of giving the penalty away and then trying to work out just what had happened in the following minute. Despair to exultation in no time but not good for the heart.
