...2 points per match from now to the end of the season, this is what the sides in the mix would end up with.
Rovers 93
Lincoln 92
Hull 90
Portsmouth 88
Accrington 88
Peterborough 87
Sunderland 84
Oxford 83
Ipswich 82
Blackpool 80
Charlton 80
Crewe 77
Obviously I'm not considering ALL of them getting 2 points per game. Just looking at what each side would get if they really clicked into form that they haven't shown anything like in the first half of the season.
I'll be surprised if 88 points gets a top two spot this year. So that is saying that the sides below us are going to need a truly exceptional second half of the season to mount a top 2 challenge.
Realistically, it's hard to see anyone outside the top
5
(EDIT. I meant the top 6) in that list have more than a very outside chance of a top 2 shout.
Oxford of course are in excellent form but all their recent wins have been against bottom half sides. Against teams in the top 13 presently, their record this season is
P11 W1 D4 L6
Let's see what they are like on Saturday.

If, say 90 points wins the title and 88 gets the second auto spot, we are in a great place....43/45 needed from 24 games, that's well within our grasp.
I'm thinking the usual minimum points for a play off place is around 75/76, so 30 more points from 24, that's probably form you'd see from a bottom half team.
Signs are good

I like the look of that! Got us at 7/1 to win the league Sunday morning.
