Raven mate in truth Billy was not the best but he was 1000%better that Bogle.  And you know I don’t just knock all things rovers or individual players without reason but all the time I have been watching Rovers and football in general Bogle is the most lazy and clueless players I have seen for years.  And how people on here can knock Fej with being our top scorer with is it 14 goals this season, without much service .  And it is not just me it’s every club and fans he has been to after he left The fishy people

Paynter was much better than Bogle.

Bogle is total, utter garbage. What a bizarre thread.

Bogle will more than likely be used to his strengths next year...the new manager might play with 2 up front and determine a style to support them...

We have a preseason to work out how to get the best from both forwards, so let’s allow the new manager to make his own decision on whether he’s good enough...

The first few games I saw him play, he did the things we were screaming for Fej to do..and he did them well....then like most he faltered tragically , he stopped doing the hold up play
and to be fare the midfield were not very supporting during that period either...

Then again the new manager might release him because he doesn’t fit....

Paynter was better heading the ball than Bogle is with his feet, at least he made contact with the ball.

He was a decent player. He missed some chances because he was always on the end of virtually every one created.
Decent striker at League 1 level as proved at Swindon Town and Rovers.

I just don’t get why Omar receives such bile and stick on social media largely from whippersnappers - Omar is a big strong lad, who uses his bulk well to hold the ball up well & bring others into play - ok, I accept he’s probably never going to be a prolific goal scorer but we’ve had dozens of forwards over the 40 years I’ve been supporting the club who literally couldn’t hit a cows arse with a spade, that doesn’t make them bad footballers, especially at the third tier.

I like him and I realise I might be in a minority but sometimes you have to put your head above the parapet and stand out occasionally.

The problem that I’ve seen, is more balls have bounced off him than he’s been able to control and keep possession. Wouldn’t mind if he didn’t score many goals, but if he’s not holding the ball up what’s good is he doing. Chris brown was never prolific but he was great and retaining possession and getting us up the field, I’ve not seen this from Bogle. I’ve seen him do a lot of running that’s about it.

Running about!

Not in many games. He has been stuck on his heels when the ball comes to him most of the time.
Never seems to anticipate the ball is coming to him and doesn’t therefore make the run he should.

Not that much to shout about is it !
To be fair apart from Grimsby he’s always played for bigger clubs than ourselves, so has probably been coming off the bench most of those appearances.

Are Hinkley United and Solihull Motors bigger clubs than us?

It was, and Paynter came here and was never called anything derisory like that because he was a solid player for us who scored goals.

13 goals in our title-winning side which I believe made him our top scorer. And a big role in *that* goal at Brentford.

There's nothing wrong with my memory, RR. Paynter was well liked here and for good reason, we had three distinct and effective forwards that season in Billy, Browny and Hume.

Barn Door was a nickname the Leeds fans gave him, as Gaz said. I have a mate who is a Leeds fan and he brought it to my attention when we signed him. Paynter proved the Leeds fans wrong with us.

maybe they do at there own clubs.  But to some it’s abuse to others it’s criticism, but if you don’t like a player and he is not trying and shit at his job, then you are not going to praise him

Is shouting you’re not fit to wear the shirt” at a player criticism or abuse?

It is part of supporting your team hound mate and we pay good money to go and watch our team sometimes money we can’t afford and it’s frustrating to see rubbish on the pitch. So I can understand why people do it, but I don’t do it myself but I can understand it

I never said it was mate nether mine but there is thousands that do, and it very often causes a fight as it has at Rovers
