Died today

Great drummer with the Stones, had the pleasure of seeing them at Roundhay Park in the early 80’s

How the hell has Keith Richards outlived him

Before my time really so it's difficult to have firm opinions.

But the reason I often prefer the Stones over the Beatles is a lot of their tracks seemed to me to have a funkiness to them and that comes from the percussion.

Here's the man himself explaining how he liked his rock n roll to be danceable

Saw them at The Gaumont in 1964 and then Manchester 2003.
Great both times but I don't know how they kept going as long in 2003. I was knackered just watching Mick Jagger.

Just reading about him, apparently there was a spell where he was alcoholic and not just that, for a short while he was doing heroin. So perhaps not always as healthy as he could have been.

Also he recovered from throat cancer in the early 2000s.

Yes, I think that we went to the early show. I started work at Peglers in 1964  and it seems a long time ago now.7/6d for my ticket then.
It cost me about £72 to see them at MEN in 2003.
