''ROTL is a risk-assessed temporary release programme that inmates in open prisons use to gain work experience to help them in their transition back into the community''

Will they get paid the proper rate or the usual peanuts wages that they'd get for normal prison work?

I did read something about pay Glyn but can't see it in this article from the bbc but there is some positive info in it especially the last line.

Here it is although it doesn't state the pay rates

''To fill vacancies companies are trying to draft in prisoners via a scheme that allows inmates to undertake paid work on day release. They are also contacting charities for ex-servicemen and women to try to drum up staff''

This is a really positive article about prison reform, getting prisoners working for themselves and helping the country.

''If prisoners are to help with the UK’s labour shortages, they must not be exploited''
