''London, 09 August 2021

Macquarie Asset Management has today announced it has reached an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Southern Water Services Limited (‘Southern Water’)''

https://www.macquarie.com/au/en/about/news/2021/macquarie-asset-management-agrees-to-acquire-majority-stake-in-southern-water.html

(Any connection is purely incidental)

''Sewage discharge rules eased over fears of chemical shortage
Wastewater plants in England and Wales offered waiver because of impact of lorry driver crisis''

'' new owner Macquarie Infrastructure''

''The Bingo buyout is the latest in a string of deals in the industry, including Australia’s largest waste company Cleanaway announcing a $501 million acquisition of the Sydney assets of Suez Australia two weeks ago in the fallout from a global mega-merger between French giants Veolia and Suez''

https://www.afr.com/companies/infrastructure/macquarie-entity-in-2-3b-buyout-of-bingo-20210427-p57mmy

Bingo up and till the buyout were the owners of a landfill site just west of Sydney where residents have been fighting to get the EPA to do something about the noxious stink coming from the site for months and months where lockdown means they have been mostly trapped in their homes. Lets see if the new owners do something. The same for Southern Water.
