That would be Doncaster United but I reckon too far ... But not as far as Doncaster Town up Bennetthorpe but they were the Cricket Team

Quite right Wolfie... I definitely had a very senior moment there...

Isn't it a similar taste to John Smith's? which I was disappointed to find was chilled the last time I had one, I prefer bitter at room temperature.

I never tasted the original Barnsley bitter but I did have a pint of the Acorn version with a couple of older lads who knew the original.

Apparently it had a distinctive copper penny aftertaste. We all agreed the Acorn version did too but they reckoned it wasn't as obvious as the original.

I quite liked it.
