Frank Sinclair
« on October 04, 2021, 12:04:19 pm by Campsall rover »
Frank Sinclair former Chelsea and Leicester player has just joined our Acadamy as U16 coach.

Think the Academy is being taken very seriously now. This has become much more a priority for the club over the last 2/3 years.
It has to be the way forward in these difficult financial times for clubs in the lower leagues.
Very good to see.  :)

Indeed. Copy the Exeter City model and we won't go far wrong. Personally i also prefer fan ownership of the club, like Exeter but that is a different issue. Invest in youth, for our own on pitch reasons primarily. Sustainability is key.

Hope Frank and the team can settle in and do a great job in this area for us.

Blimey, that's quite a high profile appointment.
Frank had a very distinguished playing career.

Frank was always an 100% player. Always liked him and never knew why. Now I do.

We need to produce higher quality players, that will be good enough for our first team and eventually to move on to a bigger team for a good fee. Only way we will get stronger. Hopefully he helps that become so.

Not sure I fully understand this appointment but hopefully those that do know will enlighten me!

Why U16s ? They are 4-5 years away from 1st team developed which means a lot of work to be put in with no guarantees?

Now this is the bit I need explaining!

Why not have an under21 academy were the lads are already 2-3 years into development and nearer to the first team?

Wouldn't the under 16s feed into the under 18s that McSheffrey runs?

It’s good appointment but when does he work with them couple of nights after school and the day of the games??

What as been said before it’s U21/23 we need so the good U18 have a progression they can play in games show their ability and then can go out on loan if required. We can also look at good trialist that have been released and make judgements on them. The problem with that it takes money away from the first team playing budget.

The club will want to get good habits into them early, because by the under 18’s it could be too late.
What a draw it is to have an ex premier footballer ,when players and parents are deciding ,which club to join.

But, but, but the board have no long term plan and aren't investing for the future...
