I get what Richie is saying I suppose but don’t like the “I can’t effect results only performances” comment. I know once the whistle blows it’s up to the players and luck but a manager can still make changes to win/lose a game.

Unless he’s been specific about the touch line ban…

I think his point is valid,
What he’s saying is he can only effect performances and if you keep performing well the results will come

Sod used to say this all the time

I think your right a lot he can’t control on a match day but subs formation changes and generally communicating/advising his players are ways a manager can impact the result. I’m sure he didn’t mean it that way just sounds like I send them out and then it’s up to them attitude.

he can’t affect results, all he can affect is how the team plays to help them get the results. If it was that easy and he was sable to affect results then we would get 3 points every game.

Yep, a very O'Driscoll saying. I remember driving home from one win, hearing him saying he wasn't happy with the performance

We won't get football clichés from Wellens which should be refreshing considering his predecessor.

He calls it as it is and doesn't sugar coat anything. I don't care how he conducts himself during the games. He can eff and jeff all he wants as long as we get results.

Without being in the dressing room or on the training pitch, we can’t judge what effect he has on players until we see what happens on the pitch.

Fergie Snr wasn't averse to the good old tongue lashing or boot throwing every now and again, and he got his messages across loud and clear.

He's got a point about Alfie May. Wellens and Marquis have made us 3 million quid and get booed. Alfie May ran around a lot.

Hate it when managers talk about momentum. It’s a load of rubbish.

Big difference. DRFC will be the biggest club May ever plays for he didn't have a club like Leicester coming in and trebling his wages for the next 3 years.

I disagree Gaz. Tennis players often talk about hitting a 'purple patch'.

I know myself playing sport sometimes it just seems you can do no wrong, sometimes nothing will go right.

It's a combination of practice and confidence just coming together.

I agree Sean O Driscoll was always all about the performance. If that was right then results would inevitably follow.

Our performances have largely been terrible though this season, hence our results being so bad. What Wellens says is right, but he needs to sort the performances out first. We are a 45-60min team. After this stamina and concentration evaporates.
