« on December 28, 2021, 02:59:07 pm by mushRTID »
Been quite a nasty looking accident today at lakeside beefeater, looks like a lorry has left the road and smashed into the car park. Video here:

Hope there are no injuries!

‘Saw that this morning coming out of lakeside, the drivers done a really good job of losing their job there. They also took out the pedestrian crossing lights at the back of Maccy D’s as well.

The driver might have had a medical episode

Or his brakes may have faild coming up to the roundabout, 40 ton of lorry is not easy to stop

They may have had a medical episode, but that section of the road is 30 and there is no roundabout before the place they went off the road

I never said before he went off, it looks like he’s come through the traffic lights approaching the Lakeside turn off opposite  BT call centre, there s a roundabout just after the the lakeside turn in, pure speculation but his brakes may have failed and he chose to run it off as the safest way to stop, or thinking  about it there may have been slow moving cars going into Lakeside that he didn’t notice and then had no choice but to run off or kill a few people in the cars in front, I’ve seen first hand what a 40 ton lorry can do running into the back of slow moving cars on the M18, total carnage, they can’t stoo quick enough

Yep, pure speculation on your part, you couldn’t make it up, but you may have. And yep, having driven HGVs your right they don’t stop very quickly.

Very lucky it happened at 7am when chances are the cars parked up were hotel residents still in their rooms.

Dread to think if anyone was just getting in or out of their cars. Or even worse, getting their children in or out!
