24 games

16 points.

I think that, other than 97/98, that's the worst we have been after 24 games in my lifetime.

We did better in 87/88, 08/09, 11/12, 13/14.

In fact we managed to get 16 points from the first 24 games in 73/74, a season that we spent most of at the bottom of Div 4. But that was 16 points under the 2 points per win system.

THAT is how bad we are.

I’m not sure we will get many more, BST. Look at our next 5/6 games and tell me where a single point comes from?

Past caring or bothering now

Mathematically relegated by mid March, possibly a bit sooner.

Here's an astonishing stat.

At this stage of the season in 97/98, we'd only lost one more game than we have this year.

Just...words...

Rovers have to go some yet to beat 98. Only 20 points all season and was it -82 gd?

Mind you, I do wonder where the next point is coming from, let alone three.

22 games left and 34 points needed for the magic 50 points.
That’s 1.54 ppg.
Currently at 0.66 ppg.
Our ppg stat is going down, the ppg needed is going up. The gap is getting bigger.
The turnaround in form required is quite literally unthinkable . Roy of the rovers stuff.
Not going to happen. The impossible dream.
Happy to be proved wrong of course.

I doubt that you will be proven wrong.

We are down.

It’s not as if we have been unlucky and have not had the rub of the green. This is a truly appalling side that has if anything got worse as the season has progressed, admittedly with serious injuries.

You just don’t see the kind of miraculous turnaround we need from a group of players who have shown themselves to be totally incapable of showing the will, desire or ability to compete.

Something for all the "well it's not like back in the Richardson era" people to think about. Very fair for us all to be appalled by the current performance. Absolutely shocking.

The last time we were this abject when Richardson was at the helm it felt like there was an enemy to fight. We were being deliberately taken apart.

Gutting thing this season is it just feels like nobody at the club is gut-wrenchingly that bothered – there's an air of apathy and a general shrug of the shoulders while we watch this f**kin car crash of a season unfold. Like somehow we were going to get away with bringing poor footballers to the club. 'We're not in a relegation fight...' There's a geriatric plodding to all of it.

I'm not suggesting people are making this happen intentionally but the dynamism to get us out and turn this around just doesn't seem to be there.

We were as abject in the second half of the 2015/16 season under Ferguson. This could well surpass that though come May.

Passion has been taken out of it a bit for me too. We've sleep walked into relegation and when it's mathematically done i won't blink an eye. At least normally there's a fight to get behind or a Richardson figure as Acacia says.

Probably why Baldwin becomes the scapegoat for some. There's no fight on the pitch to get behind and there needs to be an outlet for the emotion that should go into supporting that fight. Because no one person is at fault it gets misdirected

I guess we were in that Fergie collapse but somehow this season really feels like we've totally lost our way from top to bottom at the club.

And that is the trajectory that we are on until something changes.

It's the change that we're all waiting for...

At least we had a spell in that season where we won games and played well. Ok the run that relegated us was just bizarre but this season it's been abject from day and likely will be till it's over.

It’s happening,
it’s really down to how you accept it, head up look to next season or head down kicking imaginary stones!

I look back and just want to cling onto some positive this season. The cup game at scunny, even the away game at Stoke. Both had signs of positivity with scratch squads. But since both it’s just been turgid at best. Completely hopeless.
