Hypocritical politicians
« on February 21, 2022, 02:14:55 pm by BillyStubbsTears »
Some folk say they are all hypocrites and all as bad as each other.

I very much disagree. I think there are some fine, intelligent, principled politicians on all sides.

That doesn't mean I don't think there some unprincipled Kitsons who wouldn't recognise honestly-held opinions if they kicked them in the b*llocks.

I give you: John Redwood MP.

personally I wouldn’t trust a single politician of any persuasion at any level as far as I could kick them

I know Ldr. And it's that attitude that means there's no incentive for the good ones to be good, and every incentive for Kitsons like Redwood to be Kitsons.

Is it just me who read both as saying the same thing?

Anyway regardless bst's point is still correct.

Can a party leader, who gets elected because of his soft left policies with the intention of turning his back on the electorate by turning hard left when elected be called a principled politician?

Can people who agree with this policy of false representation also be called principled?

He's saying that our Govt needs to give the authorities stronger powers to disperse disruptive protests. Elsewhere he has specifically given the example of protests that block roads. Then he's criticising the Canadian Govt for using strong powers to disperse a protest that has blocked key roads for days.
