Football on TV
« on March 20, 2022, 12:00:36 am by phil old leake »
I don’t know what other people think but I feel that there is now more importance placed on pundits than watching the football

They sit there in their studio and make stupid jokes Every game is micro analysed and dissected and a lot of what is discussed is fxxxing obvious

There’s more talking about the game before and after than the game itself

The games last 90 odd minutes and all the nonsense around it takes just as long

These pundits have all got their opinions about what teams should do to improve. Who cares. I can see if someone makes a good pass or a goal is outstanding

For me the there is a nice little group of sycophants making a good living out of patronising the public

Let’s have slot less chat and more game.

that's the thing phil, mountains of money has to be recovered by any means possible, ticket sales, media, merchandise, gambling and clicks and talking about it forever on all these platforms.

Filling the time with waffle is cheaper per minute than most other tv costs to make. It's why there's so much padding in lots of other types of programmes too, as well as soaps gradually eating up more and more of the schedules.

And also why there's so many 'roadtrip' type of programmes now that there's a reliable steadycam - why pay for expensive studio time when you can just do stuff on the fly?
