Anyone had their conservatory roof replaced

If so, how much did it cost and has it made a difference. Ours is a flat roof type 11x 8 ft
The reviews I’ve seen are pretty impressive and the few people that I’ve spoken have been pleased with the new tile roof.

We had ours done about four years ago. We bought the stuff from Solarframe and got someone else to fit it which reduced the price greatly.

Made a huge difference to heating bills, also stays nice and cool in summer.

We've thought about having it done but doesn't it make the adjoining room considerably darker?

Marginally I guess but we also had some spotlights put in the conservatory

We had our perspex roof replaced with a solarframe tiled roof, had it done about 5 years ago and cost £5 grand. To be honest if you don't have heating in your conservatory it will make little difference in the winter, we have a fan heater which is linked to the central heating and so only comes into use when we fire the heating up. We cannot use the conservatory in the winter it's too cold, I reckon its improved the temperature by only a few degrees.
In the summer it is slightly cooler but again not by many degrees.

Hound its south facing, we have a really big wall at the end of our garden, which shades the conservatory during the winter months as the sun never really gets above the wall.
Sat in it a couple of weeks ago and had to have the door open as the heat was overpowering, it is of course basically a glass box attracting and keeping the heat in during the summer.

I have a large conservatory on a North facing wall.
In summer it is perfect for using as it doesn’t get overpoweringly hot.
We have underfloor heating plus a radiator in there for the cooler months and use it about nine months of the year but even with the heating on we have about three months where it is too cold in there.
The roof is the usual corotherm type though.
I have considered changing the roof but don’t think the outlay would be worthwhile.

Instead of investing in the roof we should have sorted out the heating, its been a waste of money really.

Had a log burner put in mine, really is a god send even on the coldest days I light the fire and within an hour it's hot enough to sit in their in shorts

We had ours plasterboarded on the underside and the void insulated - a lot cheaper and made a huge difference. We can now use it in the summer, in winter the radiator occasionally needs a bit of help from a wall heater

We have an air conditioning unit in our conservatory and we live in it all year round. The unit cools the room in summer and heats it in winter.
