I had a look at the sort of odds we are looking at for what would probably be the biggest comeback in English Football History for Rovers to retain lge one status this season.

Starting with this weekends games featuring Rovers and Gillingham.
Both of which would have to go our way to start with, with plenty of goals going in our favour.

Rovers to beat Burton 4-0 is an 80-1 shot.
Pompey to beat Gills by 4-0 is a 28-1 shot.
So an Acca for both to come in that’s combined odds of 2348/1. (Skybet)

And for the same to happen the weekend after when rovers go to Oxford and gills play Rotherham you are probably looking at similar combined odds.
So over the 4 games that would be combined odds of 5.5 million to one.

Oh, and that’s not all. We would need other results to go our way, so you could probably add a nought to the end of that figure,
Place your bets if you are feeling very very very lucky.

Even that series of results would only add up to a sixteen goal swing in goal difference so still not the eighteen one that we would need.

A more conservative way of looking at it would be to look at over/ under goals.
For each of these four respective games the odds of there being over 4.5 goals in each game is around 7/1.
So for the four games that’s combined odds of 2400/1.

A quick re jig on sky with 5-0 score lines bumps the combined odds for just the rovers and gills games of 174.2 million to one.
With another nought added probably for the other games to go our way too.

Rovers beating burton 5-0 would raise some serious questions alone, given it’s 200-1.
