Queen's Speech
« on May 10, 2022, 09:35:27 pm by BillyStubbsTears »
So we are in the centre of an energy crisis. Within an existential Climate Emergency.

There is no better way of making big strides to combat both than by the Govt spending big and hard, immediately, on insulating our woefully out of date housing stock.

There was one use of the word "insulate" in the 140 page document that accompanied today's speech. It's a committment to...make it easier to jail protestors like Insulate Britain.

Let’s use this post to disrespect the Queen even further, everyone.
She probably won’t be around too much longer anyway, eh Billy?
Fill your boots for more political points, everyone!

Edit: unless this is one of your really clever posts that doesn’t mean what it initially appears to mean.

I’m not so sure Glyn.  The last paragraph of the OP looks like it is questioning the content of her speech.

A speech she didn't write and didn't say? Yeah right.

And the OP didn't question the speech in the last paragraph either, but a document that accompanied it.

I heard the real reason she didn't go was that she took one look at the advance copy, said 'this is b*****ks, I'm not reading that load of rubbish. If thats all they can come up with I'm not going to be associated with it, i'm going to pull a sickie', and Charlie had to do it. And you can hear how thrilled he was.

It’s the principle. Of course she didn’t write it. She may even not agree with it.
But she is at the end of her life.
Respect, not politics.

Shame on  you, yet again, Billy.

The Eye reckons she's not as well as the Palace machinery is making out. It'll be interesting to see how many Jubilee events she attends.

How dare you disrespect the Queen by abusing the Queen's English with 'shameon'?

Respect, not illiteracy. It's the principle.

Think hard everyone: as hard as Billy  does- which is probably much harder than you do, because Billy thinks harder than everyone else.

So hard that he chooses to ignore me and comment on what I say at the same time !

So anyway. Insulation.

What's going on here? It's an absolute no brainer on every level. Why aren't we pouring money into it?

Is it because we are going to put our effort into delivering nuclear power, which might just start making the UK less dependent on gas in twenty five years time?
