Another teams shirt.

My father in law has just come back off holiday in portugal and has very kindly fetched me, the wife and our baby son a present back each. Our lass has got a bottle of perfume, sound. Our lad he gets a little peruvian type jacket which looks the part in my opinion. Me though, and I dont want to appear ungrateful as he doesnt have to fetch anybody anything back, ive been given a portugal home shirt. A bloody portugal shirt. I remember watching in horror as a 17 year old england getting knocked out on pens in euro 2004. I was actually in gelsenkirchen when they did it again 2 years later in the world cup. I cant bring myself to wear it, he may as well have given me an argentina shirt or a scotland one. The thing is it could be the most beautiful, finely stitched and hand sewn most dazzling looking shirt thats ever been crafted but its about that little badge in the top left corner and what or who it represents. I just cant do it as a football fan wear another countries shirt and my questions to any of you are - would you wear it? And have you ever been given another teams shirt and thought like christ I am wearing that shite?

Another countries shirt, nah, wouldn't do that.
Another clubs shirt, as long as it's not another English club then fair enough, especially when it's something like Venezia's from last season.

Plenty of folks wear other countries’ shirts if a player from that country plays for the club they support.

Possibly also if your partner is from another country, or if you live/work abroad and want to fit in?

Except when they are playing England!

To answer the question in the OP, not me, I can only wear England or Rovers shirts.

DO I'm of the same thinking, hes brought me a couple of german shirts back before (dortmund and schalke) and ive worn them a couple of times each. Also, years ago I took a mate of mine from the army to a donny game and I bought him a 'heffern-hayter' terminator type shirt which was red. In return he bought me a retro hamilton accies shirt which I loved and I still even wear it sometimes, people think its a rovers shirt anyway because of the red and white hoops on it.

Think when I was about 2 I was bought a West Ham top, think the whole country loved them then though bearing in mind it was 1966 - don’t think since then I’ve ever worn another teams top (exception being ones I was playing for at local level lol) other than Rovers or England.
My lad has Rovers, Rosso and Atalanta tops

I looked after my neighbour's cat whilst she went on holiday.
She spent £25 on an Official Merchandise Beatles t shirt as a thank you.
My favourite band are the Sex Pistols. She knows that I'm an old punk. And yet she bought me a Beatles t shirt. In a large. And I'm an XL.
It'll be on ebay soon lol.
