Taylor Richards

Hi!
QPR fan here. Looks like we’re about to sign T. Richards from Brighton on a permanent deal. What can we expect from him? Style of play? Position? Looks like he had a pretty productive season for you lot when he was here. Can’t really go on his Birmingham loan as he only played 9 games.
Thank you!

Yeah he could be a big player in the right team. Carries the ball really well through the middle. and has a good shot from distance.

He struggled towards the end of his loan with us. In the end we probably only had a good 1st half of the season because of his form. The rest of the team were pretty awful it turned out

Can look lazy without the ball but magical in the final third with it. Has an eye for a pass and scores a few from outside the box too.

He's a Number 10.

That is spot on JMT.

Looks totally disinterested and then BANG he 's on.

I would have him back. An exciting player.

In fact if I get time I will pop down to Loftus Rd to watch him.

By far one of the most gifted players I’ve seen at DRFC, he is not going to be one chasing down and tackling, or tracking back much, but in the final third and with the ball at his feet he was too much for league 1.

He is a match winner ,carries the ball well with pace and can score goals out of nothing

His strength is his strength and desire to break the lines to open things up, often having the end product to match.

Part of his learning was knowing when to release to players in better positions and not to take too many risks when in deeper positions.

Judging by his appearances for Brighton after he left us, he applied some of that learning and looked more a team player.

Hope he does really well for you.

A bit of a unit and a game changer when he’s in the mood. Was really good for us and us for him - he flourished under Darren Moore’s guidance.

Has a languid style about him but is a real difference-maker in the final third. Very few players I've seen play for us who made it look as easy drifting past opponents as he did. He didn't look like he was moving particularly quickly but it looked like opponents weren't there sometimes. Great left foot too.

Hes a bit of a Balotelli type player but without the bad traits that he had.
As said above he is not one that is in the team to track back and graft but he can win you games single handedly once he comes alive in the final third.

He’s one of those players who likes like he can’t be bothered, yet wins tackles & boy can he shot from outside the box.

I'm not disagreeing with you here Bessie, but does anyone remember very early on in his spell here where he saved what looked like a certain goal by absolutely pelting it back when our GK (Bursik?) had rushed out and got beat to the ball? Might have even been MK Dons in his debut game, or maybe the Bristol Rovers win shortly after.

He would be a great permanent signing for QPR and it’s about time he went somewhere where he’s going to play games rather than be loaned out.

Comments above sum him up well. He comes alive on the ball, can beat a player and looks to get shots off early. He got lots of goals for us in this way. I don’t think he’s lazy, I just think he needs reminding of his responsibilities out of possession. But if he’s managed well then he’s got the lot.

Very elegant player. Hopefully he can be the next Eze for you guys.
I would say he’s similar in playing style.
His trademark goal seemed to be gliding across the pitch on the counter and just slotting it in the bottom corner from 25 yards himself. Enjoy!

His close control was my favourite thing about him. In a tight space he could move the ball around an opponent and break into space with it himself brilliantly.

He wasn't refined in off-the-ball play or getting around the pitch so much in his time here, but he had the makings of a really good player and had ability in spades.

Thanks guys, appreciate the feed back. Sounds like we could mould him into a star. Good luck for the season and maybe we can loan you a few young stars in the making again like Seny!

Seny was class, can't believe you had two keepers better than him at the time.
Agree with most of what's said above re Taylor, good luck for the season.

Saw all the fanfare about Taylor Richards returning home to QPR, then when I read the article I noticed it’s a season long loan. It reminded me how deflated I felt every time we announced a signing only to find it was another loan. This summer has been so refreshing in that respect where we’ve focused on a core of contracted players to develop. I feel a bit for QPR on this one as if Taylor Richards performs to the level he’s capable of he might make himself out of reach to them next summer.
