Nice little place and a couple of tables to sit on outside aswell as inside.https://www.thedraughtsmanalehouse.co.uk/How did I forget that one?!Agreed, great place to start.

If you are willing to make a detour into town then some good options including some newer places in Market Place. Salutation still very good as well.Corporations Taps has been closed for some time.

Speaking of Railway pubs is the one at Bentley crossings still on the go? I know The Drum, where I had my 1st pint at 14 is gone
Adam and Eve gone now a Heron food store, bay oss still there and still a dump, Highwayman still there, decent grub as well, nice Sunday carvery and all you can eat brekkie if you have a big belly.
Coming down for the Leyton Orient game in October by train with 5 mates. Are there any decent pubs on route to the ground. Don’t think I’ve been in the town centre for about 30 years!! Any recommendations?
