Coppingers Influence?
« on October 13, 2022, 10:45:51 am by Canadian Rover »
We are all frustrated to see a lack of tactics, style and plan from Mcsheffrey and his coaching staff show on the pitch.

I wonder if in his DOF role Copps has stepped in and helped Mcsheffrey in any ways with regards to what has happened.

We are in a very different situation to most clubs with not only a rookie manager but also a rookie DOF.

Maybe just maybe we as fans need to "wait it out" as the manager and DOF are both still truthfully finding their feet.

Short term 2 rookies in the most important roles within a club maybe a huge mistake, but both are ambitious and know the club, area and have had very good footballing careers. We may have hit our lowest point under the COPPS/MCSHEFFREY ERA already and maybe just maybe we will see a huge improvement.

I really hope behind the scenes Copps has had an influence to help the team going forward.

Yes, I think it’s ‘a given’ we all do.

There is a long interview with Copps due to be broadcast soon and no doubt he will clear the air on quite a few matters .

I’ll look forward to that. Copps isn’t one to ‘waffle’, he’ll tell it as it is & you can trust him to be open & honest.

Whether you agree with his opinion on personnel & their abilities is a different matter.

I do know he’s made changes to Cantley Park with regards to facilities etc. And he’s coaching them in off field matters too.
He’s probably working on other things too but I’m sure his interview will elaborate.

I've just listened to one put out today.

A bit of a rehash covering old stuff. Nothing new but a good listen. He talks well.

Maybe its the first installment and he's going to move onto the new stuff later?

Forgot to say. One interesting thing he said was that he rated Fergie as the 2nd best manager he's worked with. Made me think of CBCB for some reason.

I'd guess that Copps and GM have lots of discussions and that this helps GM keep on a level mentally allowing him to focus positively. However, there is obviously something not near 100% with how GM is dealing with the team including tactics and their mentality for the games. With Copps not having managed, there could be room for extra help to push GM in his development.
