A good age.

He reneged against the stereotypical parts that had made him ‘famous’ in his latter years & sought parts with more gravitas whilst recognising those early parts in the ‘Carry On’ series of films had ‘made him’ as an actor.

He’ll be remembered fondly I’m sure by those of us of a certain age when sexism wasn’t a hanging offence.

Some folk these days would say he should have been bloody well hung.

Apparently, he was.
