Charlie Lakin

From Aadm Oxley's twitter:

Charlie Lakin’s season is over for Doncaster Rovers due to the thigh injury he sustained against Wimbledon.

It’s still to be determined whether the 23yo midfielder will return to parent club Burton for his rehab or stay at the Eco-Power.

If he has his rehab with us then we will probably be signing him in the Summer

Hes also suggesting we will be looking to get an emergency loan keeper due to Mitchell's injury

Not good for us on both counts. Be interesting to see who we can get as goalkeeper cover, and then how long it's before he starts to get as much stick as Mitchell.

Gutted about Lakin, I thought his energy and desire to move the ball forward is something we lack, particularly from Close - we're much more pedestrian without Lakin. Here's hoping he makes a full recovery and comes back to join us.

I see they are undecided on if he goes back to his parents club for treatment or stays with us. With our medical history if I were Lakin or Burton I'd have him away ASAP!!

By the end of the season comes, a better option might be there. In the mean time we need a midfielder, the free market is the only place we can go. Yes they will be short of fitness but we need to cover his loss.

We have Tommy Rowe and I think this maybe a good opportunity for Liam Ravenhill too.

That's a good shout re Liam, at this level his work ethic and aggression would be an asset - just need creative outlets (Molyneux, Hirst etc) alongside, could be worth getting him some game time.
