Reshuffle
« on February 07, 2023, 02:35:41 pm by BillyStubbsTears »
What ever happened to that nice Mr Sunak who said he was going to restore faith in Tory politics?

He's just picked Lee Anderson to be Tory Party deputy chair. That role is vital in arranging strategy for the next election.

This was Anderson at the last election

30p Lee as he is known

Punched a wheelchair user / says poor people can't cook and can't budget

Also claim 220,000 quid in one recent year said to be "way above average for an ordinary MP"

Ordinary no more . Step up to the trough Anderson , and snout ready

His appointment should make the expected Labour win even more easy then.
A foregone conclusion I suppose.

He's a full on embarrassment for any working class aspiring candidate to be an MP.

People like this are not needed, by any political party.

Would not look out of place at Donny Racecourse taking bets on Gypsy prize fights.

Grant Schapps is now in charge of climate change issues, which is unfortunate, as his voting record shows that he is basically a denier;

So much for the science then!

I notice from recent polls that Reform are now polling around 5-6%. I presume Anderson's promotion is an attempt to win these right-wing nutters back.

Every mining village had a Lee Anderson. Bigoted gobshite who never missed an opportunity to slag off "scroungers" while often being on the fiddle themselves.

Give him 18 months then he'll be on the dole. I trust he'll be able to eat for 30p a day.

I think it's more that Anderson fits the public school/Oxbridge image of a working class Tory. So they think he'll be able to save the Red Wall seats. It might work in Mansfield because they've always been Kitsons, but it won't work generally across the north.

BST it's not Mansfield it's Ashfield.
You are aware he was a Labour Councillor before being suspended and swapped to Tory to fight the Labour MP.
But he's got a soup kitchen that he's very proud of, featured on local TV singing it's praises which is where he got his 30p meal from, batch cooking
Can you imagine...... an MP, of any Party, being proud to be involved in a soup kitchen, you couldn't make it up

Still go back to Hartlepool by Election which had had a Labour MP for ages

Despite Labour not being in Govt for 9 or 10 years an ex Labour Voter said I'm voting for Conservatives because Labour ( presumably his MP ) has done nothing for us

At least the Tories have given us 9 food banks he said without a trace of irony

Fascinating "rap sheet"

I like Hands's comment at the end , as usual a real cop-out of a Statement

Mr Hands declined to say whether he backed some of Mr Anderson's past comments, but told LBC he had not "studied every single pronouncement made by Conservative backbenchers".

He said he would not comment on things that had been said in the past, but was looking forward to working with Mr Anderson.

BBC News - MP Lee Anderson: New deputy Tory chairman clashes with radio presenter
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-64573457
I think Lee deserves a thread of his own lol. Now he's falling out with a local radio presenter after she brought up the video of him setting up one of his mates to pretend to be a Labour supporter  so he could 'win' him over in a doorstep discussion.
He's the gift that will keep on giving.

The trouble is though he won’t have to live on 30p meals because the MP’s redundancy payments are over generous for failed members. You or I could never receive  such favourable conditions after a possible single term in office.

It’s always seemed wrong to me that we won’t pay a competitive salary to attract top quality candidates but will pay poor MP’s over the odds when they get found out and ditched.

The system needs a full reset, right from the top.

You are right. Let's honour him with his own Thread.
