What a terrifying way to go, roughly 20 hours of oxygen left, poor buggers.
I first read/heard about his & thought “Why?” Why would you pay nearly £200,000 to get inside a submersible that has room for only four other people then submerge 2 miles through ever darkening waters in order to reach a wreck (yes I appreciate its not any old wreck) which takes two & a half hours to reach, you then have three hours to photograph the wreck (photographs that you can see in far greater detail in the safety of your own home on the internet) before you have to make the two & a half hour return to the surface because you only have eight hours of air before you’re in ‘trouble’?No back up rescue vessels ‘just in case’ something goes wrong, no contingencies in place…..frightening.This was a tragic, ill thought out ‘tourist trip’.I hope for the best but felt the worst the minute I heard the news. You wouldn’t get me in that submersible for any amount of money let alone pay for the ‘experience’.I hope they’re all found alive & well.

Even if these submersible’s were manned they would have had huge ‘back up’ vessels & rescue plans in place. These poor souls were literally bolted into this thing & did so willingly.I fear they were being bolted into what will become their coffin & unless this thing imploded or crashed & was breached & sank, they face a horrible end.Give me an exploding rocket on take off into the universe.
This will be under enormous scrutiny.
Even if they're found now, how on Earth would they get them back to the surface?
